Nature Trails: Of Wintergreen's 11,000 total acres, over 6,000 acres remain as undisturbed forest with a rich mosaic of natural wildflower gardens. Threaded throughout this forest are almost 30 miles of hiking trails, established and currently maintained by The Wintergreen Nature Foundation staff. Even in much of the developed area, the wildlife remains an abundant and central focus of the atmosphere at Wintergreen Resort. The Appalachian Trail also winds through the development.
